Mac App Shortcuts: 10 useful shortcuts
Application «View», preinstalled on all Macs, much more useful, than many consider. The program can be used not only to open various types of files, but also for editing them, as well as extracting images from applications.
Anyway, most users probably work with the program using the mouse or trackpad, and we will tell, how to manage the application, using combinations «hot» keys.

1. Starting the slide show function in the Preview application
Highlight the desired image and press Command (⌘) + O. This action will open in the application View selected files.
To use the slide show function, click Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + F. This action displays the content in full screen mode and allows you to view images in slide mode.
2. Scaling
If the image is too large or too small, you can scale it with combinations Command (⌘) + Minus (-) or Command (⌘) + Plus (+).
3. Stretch the selected fragment to full screen
If you want to quickly enlarge the selected fragment, select the necessary element in the image, and then click Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + 8.
4. Image color adjustment in Preview
Using app «View» and combinations Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + C you can adjust the color of the image. Pressing Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + C will open a miniature window with editing tools, with which you can change the exposure, contrast, the shadows, saturation, temperature and so forth. These tools may well serve as an alternative to some expensive photo editors.
5. Image rotation
application «View» allows you to rotate images right or left. In order to rotate the picture 90 degrees to the left, click Command (⌘) + L, if the image needs to be rotated 90 degrees to the right, then, respectively, press Command (⌘) + R.
6. Circumcision (framing) Image Viewer
If you need to quickly crop the image, click Command (⌘) + K. Crop borders appear on the screen, which you can form with the mouse or trackpad.
7. Toggle Sidebar Options
When opening in «Watching» a large number of files, you can configure a view convenient for you. By default, macOS displays files as icons, but if desired, the contents can be represented as a list, by tapping Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + 3. Combination Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + 1 help completely hide the sidebar, a Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + 2 will return to the icon view.
8. How to show or hide the magnifier in the Preview application
To call or hide a magnifier, just press the key ` (to the left of the key «Z»).
9. Show or hide image inspector
In order to find out detailed information about the file, open in application «View», click Command (⌘) + I. So you can find out the date of creation and change or file size, when it comes to image, or other information, associated with that file type, which you discovered.
10. Copy open file
If you want to create a copy of an open file and save it as a new file, click Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + S. Now you can save a copy under a different name.
