Surely you sometimes wondered, where was this or that file downloaded, hosted on a Mac drive — a friend asked me to drop the link or you just want to remember the address of the online storage. In this article we will tell you how to do it with regular means of macOS.
When downloading any files through a browser on macOS, the system automatically ascribes the source information.
1. In the Finder or on the desktop, right-click on the desired file and open the menu «The properties» (combination Command ⌘ + I on keyboard).
2. Click on the arrow to the left of the area «More details», to disclose information.
In a single paragraph «Where from» source address will be displayed. If there are two addresses in this field, then one of them indicates where the URL link was located, which you clicked on, and second — from which address the file itself was downloaded.
